FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "100% Organic" mean at HOP Eco-Garden?

It means we use zero synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. We rely on regenerative practices, such as natural composting and soil health management, to grow nutrient-dense food that is safe for your family and the environment.

What is "Regenerative Health" and why does it matter?

Regenerative health starts with the soil. By restoring the natural minerals and biology of the earth, we grow food that is more nutrient-dense than “conventional” produce. When you eat from HOP Eco-Garden, you are eating food designed to heal and strengthen the body, not just fill it.

Do you use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides?

Absolutely not. We are 100% organic. We use natural composting, crop rotation, and botanical extracts to manage pests and feed our plants. Our goal is to work with nature’s ecosystem, not fight against it with chemicals.

How will this garden benefit future generations?

By practicing regenerative farming, we are actually improving the land rather than exhausting it. We are building a model of food security that our children and grandchildren can inherit—a healthy, profitable, and self-sustaining piece of The Gambia.

What kind of crops are you currently focusing on?

We focus on high-nutrient staples and local favorites that thrive in our Gambian climate. Our selection is chosen to balance soil health (nitrogen-fixing plants) with the nutritional needs of our community.

Can I visit the garden or volunteer?

Yes! As a family legacy, we believe in community. We plan to host “Open Garden” days where you can see our progress, learn about organic methods, and see how we turned a wild brush into a thriving eco-hub. (Keep an eye on our “News” section for dates!)
